But the Brazil international might have indirectly told them that he is happy where he is after purchasing a £4million mansion in the north east.

According to The Telegraph, Guimaraes has bought a luxury property at Darras Hall in an exclusive neighbourhood in Northumberland, just outside of the city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

He and his wife Ana Lidia Martins have just had their second child, who was born last month, and it is believed this house will be their family home.

Family is extremely important to Guimaraes, who also became a father for the first time in October 2022 while with Newcastle.

The midfielder's parents often visit from Brazil, as well.

It might be the clearest indicator yet that the former Lyon star has committed his long-term future to Newcastle.

His contract includes a release clause that is worth £100m after penning a new deal in October 2023.

However, no club has indicated that they are willing to meet that figure and the Magpies are not interested in negotiating a lower price.

Potential suitors would have relied on Guimaraes forcing the issue but, after buying a new mansion, it looks like he is happy where he is.

And that is not the only boost to Eddie Howe, who saw Joelinton sign a new contract after months of speculation that he could depart.

The two Brazilians are best friends at Newcastle and form a destructive midfield at St. James' Park.

Newcastle are also prepared to reject all bids for Alexander Isak this summer, who has also courted attention from Arsenal.

The Sweden international has had a fine campaign to date with 21 goals in all competitions, including seven goals in his last six Premier League games.

Newcastle find themselves sixth in the Premier League and are a strong bet to finish in a Europa League spot this season.
