UFC president Dana White has shared the one and only problem he has with Conor McGregor - his timing.

The pair have had an up-and-down relationship over the past decade that has seen McGregor become the sport's biggest star.

The 'Notorious' became a two-weight champion while also headlining UFC's biggest pay-per-view event against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor has infuriated his boss by releasing private messages in the past, while his continued absence from the Octagon has sparked reports of tensions between them again.

However, UFC boss White has also named the Irishman as one of his ‘favourite’ fighters of all time.

Now, it seems the 54-year-old only has one problem with McGregor and that's his timekeeping.

White bemoaned the fact that McGregor, hailed for the timing of his punches inside the cage, never shows up for media on time.

Speaking to Lex Fridman, White was asked about the good, bad and the ugly of working with McGregor and said: "There's literally no ugly.

"Conor McGregor has been an incredible partner to work with.

"If Conor showed up to things on time there wouldn't be one f****** bad thing I could say about Conor, you know what I mean?

"If you put a gun to my f****** head, right, and said, 'Don't lie, motherf*****, tell me all the bad things about Conor McGregor'.

"I'd say the guy doesn't show up on time. That's it.

Former two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor admits he was irked by Dana White pouring cold water on a potential trilogy fight with Nate Diaz

"If Conor McGregor showed up to s*** on time, and sometimes he does, he'd be [great], he's been a great partner."

White went on to shower McGregor with praise, having credited him for never turning down fights or holding the company for ransom.

"If you look at what a huge superstar he became, the fights that he was involved in, let me tell you what Conor McGregor never did.

"He never walked in a room and said, 'Conor this guy just fell out, we want you to fight this guy' and he was like, 'No way, I'm not taking this f****** risk', I'm at this point in my career where my money, my this, my that'.

"He was like, 'F*** it, let's do it'. He'd always say, 'Let's do it'.

"The other thing Conor McGregor never did, no matter how big he was or whatever it was, when we were heading into a fight, 'Oh Conor, this guy just fell out' - Aldo fell out, we were looking for another.

"'Yeah I'll do it, but I'm gonna need another f****** £200,000, I'm gonna need another million dollars'.

"Conor McGregor never did that kind of chicken s****, you know, bull****, he never did any of that.

"Conor was as solid a guy as you could possibly work with."

He added: "Conor has been incredibly successful. He's made a lot of money, he's had his ups and downs outside and inside the Octagon.

"But as for a guy who was on the dole and was a plumber he's actually a really smart businessman.

"And he's been one of the best partners that I've ever had in the history of the sport."
