Room Service

The Burradon Stakes (listed) kicks off the top meeting at Newcastle.

And it's an interesting one, for just three-year-olds who look to have a lot of potential.

Silent Age scored comfortably last time out to make it 2-2 under Danny Tudhope for trainer Charlie Appleby.

But was odds-on favourites for both his contests so it's still hard to tell just how good he is.

Only just made all on his debut but was far superior next time at Wolves.

Orne on the other hand has already had success as a two-year-old and placed second in Doha in February before coming third in a listed contest at Lingfield earlier this month.

He was carrying top-weight for that which makes it a much more encouraging ride over 7f, and is yet to win over an even mile.

Room Service is yet to take on longer than 61/2f but won comfortably under Tom Eaves in September to beat Dragon Leader and as a result went up 13lb for that easy success on the turf.

He's also got an early entry into the Irish 2,000 Guineas which could be a sign of encouragement from connections and trainer...

He looks the optimal chance at 3/1 though despite his lack of form over 1m, he's proven he's got the speed at a top level over 6f and his pedigree suggests 1m is ideal too. However, if the money keeps coming for Silent Age, then it's probably wise to follow suit and go for an exacta on the pair.

Palace Boy

A huge price considering he placed behind Spartan Army, the favourite at Southwell in February.

Spartan Army was carrying just 3lb more that day, but comes into this on the back of a couple more wins and now carries 10lb more, which gives Palace Boy a huge chance to keep improving on the flat.

This gelding came back this season in the winter for his first go at the all-weather and won both times comfortably.

Having previously been seen at Cheltenham Festival over hurdles for Fergal O'Brien, where he was the 200/1 shot for the Supreme behind Marine Nationale.

Looks well suited to the flat and even more so over the stamina flat tests he's seen this season as he keeps improving, and now gets all the weight to help his rise in this sphere.

Nine Tenths

This filly would be in contention no matter who was on board but the fact she's got a 7lb claimer up really helps her case to alleviate the top-weight as the top-rated horse of the field.

Jack Enright won on her before back in December and is more than familiar with the horse to steer her clear once more.

She beat Misty Grey earlier this month in listed company, beating geldings and colts in the process.

Including the 113-rated Shouldvebeenaring as well as Intervention and Misty Grey.

She's really improving this season and looks to be one to keep on side as she could just keep progressing.

Inspiritus

Came a close second to Bystander over course and distance earlier this month.

Upped 2lb as a result, as he was carrying 8lb more than his closely rated rival, so he's got a huge chance of reversing the form now he's weighted well with that rival.

Bystander could be on the up still but does have to face a 6lb rise in the ratings which makes him a total of 9lb worse off than when he beat Inspiritus which is a tough challenge.

First Emperor

First Emperor is a massive price considering he also has form behind the two favourites in the market for the Class 2 Championships Marathon handicap at Newcastle at 1.53 on Friday.

He placed a close third behind the pair at Southwell in February out of 13 runners.

And was previously an even closer sixth behind the same horse here in February as well.

He had a wind op and was gelded over the course of the autumn and winter and still deserves a chance on his fifth run since, having performed well and right down in the weights too.
