Bristol City seeking swoop for Australian international goalkeeper

Bristol City have been linked with a move for Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne.

The 30-year-old helped his side win the A-League Championship recently and is a man in-demand, as per a report by Bristol Live.

Bristol City are in the hunt for a goalkeeper or two this summer as they look to bolster their options in that department.

Redmayne, who is 6ft 4inc, would provide the Robins with more back-up/competition for next season. He has played over 150 games in his career, all of which have come in Australia.

He started his career with the Australian Institute of Sport and had a trial in England with Arsenal as a youngster before returning home.

Redmayne moved onto have spells in the A-League with Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar before moving to Melbourne City in 2012. He became a regular starter for the AAMI Park side and impressed for them.

He was snapped up by Western Sydney Wanderers in 2015 before moving to their rivals Sydney FC a year later.

Redmayne has gained a reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in Australia but could be on his way for a new challenge in Europe this summer.

Bristol City have promotion aspirations for next season and want to be challenging at the top end of the Championship. The potential signing of Redmayne would offer Lee Johnson more options to choose from between the sticks.
