Leeds United, Aston Villa, Derby County and Middlesbrough said keen on Serie A prodigy

A report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Championship trio Leeds United, Aston Villa and Derby County are three of multiple sides to have asked Serie A champions Juventus about possibly bringing signing young English striker Stephy Mavididi on loan.

Juventus’ young English striker Stephy Mavididi is attracting significant transfer interest from a number of Premier League and Championship sides this summer.

TEAMtalk has said that Championship trio Leeds United, Derby County and Middlesbrough have all enquired about bringing Mavididi on loan for the 2019/20 season. Recently relegated Fulham have also been credited with interest in the former Arsenal youngster as well. Newly promoted Aston Villa and Premier League sides Newcastle United, Everton, Southampton and Burnley are all said to be keen on the striker as well.

The 21-year-old striker made the move to Juventus last summer, leaving Premier League outfit Arsenal upon the expiry of his contract. After spending most of the season with the club’s second string side, Mavididi made his way into the first-team picture, making his debut for Juve towards the tail end of the season.

Now, he could be sent out on loan to gain some first-team experience. He will be behind a number of players in the pecking order at Juventus, including Cristiano Ronaldo, so rather than spend another season with the club’s Under-23s in the Serie C, he could be sent away for the 2019/20 season.

Mavididi has played in the Football League before, spending time on loan with Preston North End and Charlton Athletic in the 2017/18 season. He scored two goals in 17 games during his time with Charlton but failed to find the back of the net with Preston in 11 appearances.
