Ange Postecoglou let his frustrations show after Tottenham's hopes of a top four finish were majorly dented in defeat to Chelsea.

Spurs lost 2-0 away at the Blues in the Premier League on Thursday night to leave their chances of qualifying for the Champions League looking slim.

Even though they have a game in hand, they sit seven points behind Aston Villa as they battle for the crucial fourth place spot.

It was also Spurs' second London derby defeat in five days following their home loss against Arsenal last weekend, with Postecoglou admitting he has to take responsibility for their latest setback.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, he said: "It's not good enough and I've got to take responsibility for that, it is on me.

"I'm the manager, I'm the one that's putting them out there and it was nowhere near good enough. As I've said, I've got to look at myself in all this and see how I can have more of an impact."

He added: "When we put in a performance like we did in the first half it means obviously my message isn't getting through, that's for me to address."

Postecoglou was then asked about what his message and gave a snappy response as a top four finish begins to look out of reach.

He responded: "Come on mate, we didn't play well. What do you want, me to sit here and write you a dossier of where we went wrong?

"Like I said, I'll take responsibility, we were poor in the first half. I still think their [first] goal was a foul but no one cares about that. But we didn't deserve anything more than that, and that's on me."

Spurs enjoyed an excellent start to life under Postecoglou as they went unbeaten in their opening ten league games this season.

Chelsea were the first side to beat them and did so in a 4-1 victory away in north London, one that kickstarted a poor run of form.

After five games without a win, including four further losses, Spurs fought back and continued to establish themselves as contenders for Champions League qualification.

However, it's now three consecutive defeats that leave their chances in the balance, with Chelsea completing the league double over them.

Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring in the first half before Nicolas Jackson's late header sealed the deal at Stamford Bridge, with Spurs far off the pace on the night.
